If you have the contacts and the patience you may sell some (cheap!) to turners but down this way the market is flooded with the stuff I'm told.

We felled a yew tree with a nice straight stem measuring 4.4m x 50cm has anyone got any ideas what do do with it or interested in buying it?

stick it in the corner of the yard and cut bits off here and there for woodturny folk, but you probably wont get enough dow to cover your time, firewood being 140quid a ton just now, i know what i would do with it:sneaky2::001_smile:

I recently e-mailed the chair of the woodturners club, (don't qoute me on the actual name of the organisation, google it) offering them a similar amount of Yew. Seem to remember they were too far from me to be interested, i'm sure they are nearer you.

I know what your saying - seems such a shame to cut it into firewood though....plus there is enough timber in it to build little Joe a house!
