But it would be in every in every respect other than the time frame .

No, it wouldn't be a Mitchell's, same as these stihls, they aren't made by stihl, they might be reproduction parts made in the stihl china factory, but they aren't signed off by stihl, it's what copywrite is all about

No you missed my point . All made from original tooling to original spec and identical in every respect other than the bloke operating the press, lathe , milling machine has a 2013 hair cut and not a 1945 hair cut .

May be identical, but if it was given the Mitchell's name it's a fake, leave off the brand name, hell, even whack your own on, and it's perfectly legal, so you could have a Stubby's mark 3 spitfire, or a Stubby 070, but as it is the OEM brand name, it's fake

Understand what you are saying but when does it become a fake ? E.G. some modern companys buy up all the old tooling for something that has been out of production for , say 20 years . Ship it out to say, India or somewhere and go into production . The product is identical in every way but not made in the original location or even country but made with the original tooling . Is that a fake ? It is possible to make a spitfire mk IV from original tooling with a Merlin engine ( not cost affective but possible ) but it will never have seen service in the battle of Britain ........Is it still a Spitfire ?

I doubt very much that Stihl would sell off any obsolete tooling
