Anyone having any issues with that good ole' summer branch drop?

 

In the last 2 days I've had two big mature Pop's shed fair sized limbs, and a reasonable sized Prunus kanzan decide that it would rather have a lay down across the footpath than stand upright any longer. (Although to be fair that was mostly as a result of rot at the root collar, than SBD)

An oak near here shed a limb due to localised decay from an old cut that had migrated to the branch collar.

Because it was in a school field they got a Tomograph on the tree an another old one, saw some decay and felled both trees!

Madness! Risk aversion at its worst IMO.

And yes, I did see the Tomograph pictures.

 

Also had two Aesculus shed limbs due to SUmmer branch drop.
