Advice on petrol leek please

When i refuel my chainsaw petrol comes out of the carb.Does anyone no why this happens? Its a pain waiting for the petrol to evaporate before starting the saw.Thanks

metering lever height I'd guess - not set correctly - what carb on it?

I had this on my old 254 husy , and it was the sealing of the fuel pipe at the tank .

Never cared for petrol leeks myself, much prefer the electric ones.

I prefer mine in a white sauce......but back to the issue, are you sure the fuel is coming from the carb?

 

Leaking fuel lines/tank connector, breather/vent, tank cap etc can cause fuel leaks but if it is coming out of the carb then a faulty needle valve/diaphragm/ metering arm may be causing the issues!

Hi its a sachs dolmar 123 and it only happens when its on its side .It runs fine when cutting firewood .I will take air filter off and have a proper look to see if its from carb.Thanks

If its on its side I would look into the tank vent, and fuel pipe to carb, but the fuel pipe normally leads to poor running.
