A large pine in a cemetery came down in Poole in the early hours of the morning. Not my area but from what i have heard there was no signs of rot at the base but sap was appearing from cracks in the bark about 3 weeks prior to the failure.

Large tree comes down on top of headstones at cemetery (From Bournemouth Echo)

Any symptoms of note Ben?

.

The willow nothing of note, 6 inch diameter limb 7m long snapped about 3m along fairly horizontal branch. It had lost a similar limb about 2 weeks back.

Neighbours reported a loud crack like a fire work.

The beech I did not see myself but the lads have got some photo's.

Pics of the HC, neither huge limbs but strange as they were so close, I thought at first someone had cut the branches from one and dragged it under the other. There is obvious dysfunction in the bigger one but nothing on the smaller one.

That could I've done some damage!

It's broken off nice and cleanly at least :) ]

Running event was taking place when it detached, apparantly a number of the competitors heard/saw it come down.

Quite unusual for such a large limb to not tear beyond the branch collar and rip down some of the trunk.

Will take some images of the dryads saddle when it colonises this wound and fruits in 2025
