Loler query

Loler inspections are really aimed at those who will never get them donei.e. those who trade with little care for staff or industry.

As for doing your own kit, it's a grey area IMHO. Either an outside assessor or one of the staff who is not financially resposable for the running of the biz would be a better call

i inspect my own kit and my lads, there's no problem in doing this as long as you can show its been done ''without fear of favor'' is the main thing. inspecting brand new gear that is loged is bollocks and a rip off.

I inspect my own equiptment at the end of the day im the one using it so im the only one that should have the final say whether its good or not. Common sense its simple why pay some one its total rollocks.

Any decent tree feller knows his gear inside and out i learned what to check and how often and my gear has and will never fial me because i check each day i use it.

how thorough do we all check our own kit being totally honest if you had to check my kit and sign to say so you would be more thorough than doing your own and be honest if you were sending your kit to be inspected would you clean sevice or re tie or even remove the od bit of kit

if your kit is well presented all marked up listed on check lists its not that expensive to have it inspected

fair comment, but i like buying new kit, get a new harness and rope every APF so biannually, and if i did not have to spend on inspections i could change gear even more often if there was a need

if you give me all your kit every other year i will do your inspections free gratis
