Absolutely nothing! Piece rate only!!! IMO - NEVER EVER pay hourly or day rate on a production job. Pay on metreage or tonnage only.

I can see where you're coming from Jon, but it sounds to me like it's barely worth extracting anyway (even more so being spruce too). IME on jobs like that where it's going to be some fair going to get any sort of weight, corners start getting cut - sticks are left half snedded, brash is 10ft deep and stacking goes out the window

That said, day rate on the whole tends to attract day rate pace so it doesn't want to be a lot per day/hour unless you have the right team in.

yes i agree with jon pay the saw operator when its measured on the trailer that way you dont have to worry about saws and operators fulfilling there full potential:thumbup::thumbup:

this would be a perfect job for a hungry 5105 they love cutting it by the cubic metre:thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:

So we are average 10 per hour but what per ton it's not all even and I think would be a nightmare to be fair to the cutters built I do get the point of cutters getting lazy if they know its the same rate all day but on the other hand you don't need to ask them back
