As long as its 6m away from track they don't give a c*ap wot it looks like in general haha. Once of a day a spray train just drive through and nuked the lot!

Opposite way around, because there were so many claims from farmers with burned crops the trackside was maintained with gangs of men with fagging hooks. With the end of the steam era this maintenance stopped and trees grew up.

 

Then came the problem of leaves crushed into the running rail affecting the conductivity of the sensors for the signalling...

They sent it through a bunch of mature Rhodies near me, it made a god awful mess

 

That was our place who did that, to be fair though most of its on quite a steep banking
