Kanga, Vermeer, Boxer - they all have there pros and cons Stewart. MultiOne, Avant are a step up then you get into proper skidsteers. Depends on your pocket and requirements.

I think they could def be useful! Maybe not the chipper but the grapple would save a bit of back Ache loading logs and looks light enough to transport around no problem. Probably the kind of thing you'd find work for easily if you had one. Any idea of price??

We hired one for a day dragging conifer around a tennis club. Used it to lift some timber lengths and bent the grab... Ill dig out a video and post it up.

Edit:

And

Looking back the one we had seems like a toy car. Maybe what your thinking is a bit hardier..

Ive looked at these before couple of years back i seem to remember them not being able to lift a great deal also they cant lift to a great height either just about lift onto a transit. Maybe they have changed since i looked.

I think they are half a ton lift? I'd much prefer a boxer. That with a little muck grab sort of thing would be invaluable. Building an Arb trolley sort of trailer for one would mean some super productivity on long drag jobs.

Worth there weight in gold in my opinion, a fencing contractor I worked for had one and I clocked up well over 300 hours on the thing, really useful and never wanting for more power!

There safe working load is a good bit under what they will actually lift and...if you get more people/bags of cement on the back as counter balance it'll lift even more haha. they used to load our iveco daily tipper no problem.
