tacky seat. how to remove?

no no that sort of tacky!!!!

 

just finished a bench yesterday for a customers open garden this afternoon. I was hoping the Danish oil would of dried by now, but is slightly tacky to touch. whilst I've sat on it and its ok for me, how could I remove the last stickiness. I though a light sand with some wet and dry?

 

garden opens at 2pm!!

but just in case some wanted the answer, I did as I thought and sanded with some fine grade wet n dry and it removed the tackiness so the ladies could rest there posterior whilst looking at the garden

try a fine grade wire wool 0000 and work it in with the oil then wipe off the excess straight away

you would be better off using OSMO exterior oil,but again wipe off the excess

dont ever use wire wool on any project destined to live outdoors, tiny bits of the steel end up inbeded in the wood and rust leaving nasty rusty spots, if you must rub it down use one of the grades of scotchbrite instead

I have never had any problems using wire wool on outdoor furniture.Maybe its because I always use it soaked in oil
