Mightily impressive Geoff, even for a Turkey.

 

Obviously someone decided it posed a significant risk to the target.

Hence the reduction.

Or is it storm damaged canopy?

Looks like there were concerns regard hazard to the road junction, the pics dont do justice to the hollowing under the tree, but that will be my bad camera angles, traffic has been cutting the road corner whilst pulling uphill, which in turn has exposed a fair bit of the root,this I regret may have detrimental repurcussions for the tree.

Coalesced decayed wounds.

 

 

Battery ran out as I took a shot of the crowm, appears to be functioning and full of vitality.

 

Good job it's in the woods though.
