Do you remember why it failed Peter?

Yes, some builders cut all the roots on one side off to put in new footings for a wall, surprise surprise a little while later the Silver Lime and a huge beech next to it fell over. Demolished the wall in two places as well, which I thought was somewhat poetic!

Well, we craned the tracked chipper in over the wall and chipped it all into the woodland round the edge of the cemetary, and then craned all the big timber out. All the small timber disappeared literally as fast as we could cut it up, the firewood vultures had a field day!

I sliced and diced the tallest silver lime in Stockport a few years ago after it blew over. I think it was around 65 feet tall.
