i apologies to anyone i offend but does anyone think there will be any work in the clear up in western australia area after there terrible disaster. :sad:

Probly all the immediate stuffs been done-Highways n stuff, as for the rest -are they gonna bother ? Some communities will just cease to exist I think -very sad.

If your refering to the fires they were/are in Victoria not WA

A mate is a lineman from Perth WA,he and several other guys from the company he works for have gone down there to help reconnect the electricity in the effected regions.

 

As for treework,I doubt it very much.Considering trees are wood and it was a fire.

When you look at the tv pictures it seems the "bush" comes right up to the houses and gardens. I wonder if there will be a program of tree work creating safe fire breaks so future fires can't reach settlements?

one of the reasons so many houses got destroyed is the fact that the home owners are not permited to clear trees around their houses.in one case a homowner did clear a 200 metre raduis around their home they got fined 30,000 plus costs nearly 100,000 all up.the fire made it within fifty metres of their home then run out of fuel.

the firestorm conditions didnt help either

Fires in victoria and australia general are a regular event due to not enough perscribed[sp] burning.

Most of them started by arsonists,some by dodgy powerpoles arcing in the wind and a few by nature
