cheers folks

What was the saw, was it a jonsered?

Jonsered 2171, good solid pro saw, same basic saw as the Husky 372xp with a few minor differences

why mewp is my question?

big Leylandiis have a huge amount of side branches of varying lengths and working them off is far easier, quicker and you also get more control in a MEWP than you would get climbing. There was also a phoneline directly under the tree, between the tree and house which can be seen near the end of the vid - an added hassle factor if climbing. Plus access for a MEWP right next to the trees was ideal in this situation.

Watch your split tail when you're back cutting those bigger lumps, quite easy to melt with a chainsaw exhaust!

thanks for the feedback mate, but the risk of melting through the sling when using the pushcut in that situation is so insignificant that it can happily be ignored :001_smile:

Enjoyed that, great job pal

cheers

That's one hell of a tall conifer,great video:thumbup1::thumbup1:

ta, about 70ft to the tips that one was, tall for a Leylandii anyway
