If it was only me going to use it I would seriously consider having one made but I want to get someone to give me a hand and would be happier and probably insured if I get a CE marked one.

I see, its a bit different if you're letting someone else loose on it. I looked at the Riko vertical splitters before I got mine so maybe an option for you. There are a few people on here with them

Ive also recently just got a riko pto pump splitter but not had chance to give it a real try yet it is however very fast!

i own a browns splitter not the quickest but pretty much splits most things (knotty oak).

It is at least 3 times quicker than the browns hydraulic maybe 4 times on my 70hp ford tractor, I will try and get a video of it over the weekend.

Dan i have been running my browns splitter of my mf 6480 (170hp) recently, on tick over and its very fast! you wouldnt want it returning anyquicker!!
