Judging by the side of main roads, dual carriageways etc, if you made ragwort notifiable it would cure any unemployment in the country!

I was called to see a job in Bingley a good few years ago, at a new build medical centre. They had knot weed which had pushed up newly laid 3by2 flags, tar mac and was growing in the new turf. They wanted a price for killing it off. I had a good look round and found over the wall they was a 15-20 foot drop with a car scrap yard at the bottom, the weed was growing out of the wall and around the edge of the scrap yard. It was a mess.
