I think it must be one that uses tct chain to cut a slot in mortar to stuff a new damp proof course into.

The only thing I can think is its to cut out mortar in buildings without a spec so you can put one in and re mortar?

Handy for cutting roots if its got a tct chain.

It's used for damp proofing. Use for cutting slots along a wall either through the mortar or brick/blocks, then the damp proof is then inserted into the slots.

 

So yeah it should be a tct chain. If its not then its been changed at some point.

 

Its a bit like the chainsaw that used for cutting through walls.
