Hi all,

Been reading this site and all the threads for months now , so thought it was time I registered .

Any way , I started on my own this time last year.saved hard and bought truck and chipper so no debts thankfully.I knew getting work was going to be hard,at first not to bad, few days for myself the rest subing.but work just hasn't picked up since then, tried everything I can think of. ( local ads, website, adwords, checkatrade, leaflets) I know it takes time and word of mouth is everything, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that might help.

Cheers all.

the thing is mate...work is tight and things are rough all round at the moment...theres not much point in spending more on advertising..the works not about in the first place. Just bite the bullet and go on survival mode...and hope that the sun will come out this year!

Dont just stick to trees when times are tough do what ever it takes!!

Try ratedpeople.com it's free for a couple of months and they actually start you off with £50 in your account, I've been selective and still had some good work from it!

Don't know about your area but we have local facebook pages called "free, for sale and wanted" then the local town name so for me "free, for sale and wanted Stroud" they are happy to support local business and I advertise on there ofr free, had some nice all be it small jobs from there!

Good luck
