My trucks gearbox has given up the ghost. I've had a quote for a brand new one. Does anyone know or can recommend somewhere where I might get a reconditioned one?

try a breakers yard, how much is a new 1,

I've been quoted £1200 plus labour( mechanic friend) thought about going to a breakers but wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere

Hi. Snows near Bristol for second hand, or HL Smith for recon. If your box will be out it makes sense to do change the clutch, beware that the flywheel is a dual mass affair and about £400. If money is tight then leave the clutch as its only an hour or so to change.

Have you tried partsgateway on the t'internet.

 

Also try ringing my local iveco (independent) parts people, they seem to be a load cheaper.
