  1. When you turn the ignition on is there a battery light? When you start it up does the light go out? If there is no light when you turn the ignition on give the alternator a tap with a hammer not to hard though. If this brings the light n it's the brushes in the alt. if not find the small wire on the alt. remove it and put it to earth, does this bring the light on? If so its the alt. If not its the fantastic iveco wiring. If the light doesn't go out when it starts the alt is broken. One other thing to check is that when it's running and if the light goes out turn all the lights on and make sure the alt. is turning, it has been known for the pulleys to spin on the shafts, this would leave it to work until its put under load then it stops going round. As for the battery. They last 3 years give or take. I've known a old guy that bought his Mazda 626 brand new and the battery gave up 16 years later. Also known them to last 6 months. Make sure it has fluid in it, if it's low top it up with cooled boiled water, drop testing is the best way to test a battery. Make sure it's fully charged when you do it or it will says its dead regardless of its condition.
  2. Hi. Snows near Bristol for second hand, or HL Smith for recon. If your box will be out it makes sense to do change the clutch, beware that the flywheel is a dual mass affair and about £400. If money is tight then leave the clutch as its only an hour or so to change.
  3. 10t block should do it. I think you will have trouble making the tractor stay still, If if ever gets near to maximum pull power. Good luck.
  4. What is the winch attached to? I take it that you own the winch and cable, not looking to buy.
  5. The size of the winch does not determin the size of the block needed, the swl of the cable and the diameter of the cable does. The pulley needs to be about 4 times the diameter of the cable. If you get a 12-15 ton snatch block you will be looking at around £300 and about 40kg. If its for winching a 10mm cable is big and has a swl of nearly 3.5 t single line pull.. I hope this helps
  6. Hi, my first post but I will put my 2p in. When I was 3 or 4 I ran out into a road with a car coming and my mum grabbed my left arm to pull me from harm. Since my teens and maybe before I can dislocate my shoulder as and when I want with no pain. I done the doctor/specialist/MRI scan a few years back and they offered surgery or physio. I took the physio as time off work and a young family wouldn't work. It hurts a bit when I push it but apart from that no bother. I hope this helps.
