There is a main road on the other side, good thinking on the wheelie bins, no buildings near. There are so many things that can do this and I have has 6 in the last week to look at around my area.

Salt spray from the roads after all the gritting over the winter?

Only has affected the end tree, you would think salt would have got them all.

Any better close up pics. My first thought was road salt, but can't see the orientation of where the nearest road is. If that's not likely, I'd be looking for Armillaria symptoms and examining the root collar for damage, girdling roots etc. If that reveals nothing the next steps foliage. There is something that affects these severely but I can't think what it is, off the top of my head.

Replanting may be a waste of time if you can't identify the problem, if it's honey fungus the rest is going to decline anyway.
