In my opinion if you want to grind stumps, start off small, see what work comes in and what you can earn. If all goes well invest in a bigger machine but if you can upgrade to a larger grinder and keep your small grinder aswell, you will see the benefits of having both machines.:thumbup1:

Ack, That make sense to me and my wallet! But there are some pretty awesome machines out there, with process to match:thumbup:

i could really do with changing my grinder at some point but as said, it comes down to budget and not wanting something on the tick! good luck in your search :)

yeah think a rayco 1620 or 1625 junior would be next for me... saw a vermeer 186 for sale and didn't like the look of it....

 

i'll get one, one day :D

 

Currently using a laski type grinder, no drive :( , 25hp kohler twin with multi tip head :thumbup1:

Yellow jackets are just vermeers name for green teeth.

 

Green teeth are multi tipped teeth that bolt in to their holders. They can be rotated easily and are very easy to replace. The old style ones were a fairly big task to replace, 3/4 inch socket with extension lever and scaffold bar on the end to loosen the holders and then a minster torque wrench to get them tight again. (different models vary of course)

 

I'm all good thanks mark. Lots of decent work coming in after what's been quite a hard winter. Hole you've made a full recovery.
