Yellow pages has just came out here(Merseyside)

Looks a lot thinner this year with quite a few less tree ads:thumbup:

Some dodgy looking ads though:sneaky2:

i dont know if there is less tree guys or just less adds, i have always found the yellow pages a waste of time. i wouldnt like to see anyone lose their business, big or small. it takes a lot of guts to take that first step into self employment. i would rather loads of work loads of workers.

imagine no apf:ohmy::sad:

magnetic signwriting steve, it wood be good for you since you sub so much, i remember you saying you dont want to annoy your employers but ideal for all other times. my 150 quid woodfuel stickers got me a 4k grant from the council sitting in safeways carpark, towards my website:001_smile:

There are loads of lads starting up around here all the time, the amount of people who say to me "My son has just pasted all his chainsaw tickets and is starting his own business." is unreal, had 2 fellas say it this week alone!

Dont get me wrong I have no problem with new companies springing up, thats how we started, its just that there are way too many and not enough work around here.

It does take a lot of guts to start up but it also takes a hell of a lot of work to keep it going.

Besides for every company ad in the YP you can be assured that there are at least 3 more driving around knocking on doors, the APF should be safe for some time yet :001_tongue:

Anyhow I need/want my business to prosper so the less ads the more chance I have of getting a call.

there are a lot...i didnt get a single call this year form yellow pages.....its a no brainer

i advertised 2 years in a row when i first started, to be honest it was more of a confidence boost for myself seeing my add up there but i only ever got 2 jobs too look at, and didnt get either. it was cheapest man won, which is fair enough but you want to have seen the state of the birch trees that the cheap guy left:ohmy:
