I too came from mechanical (Lockjack) and it took a while to get used to using a hitch again and having faith in it.

A mechanical will always grab but a hitch may not and a year later, I still get nervous about it.

I miss the Lockjack but I really don't miss climbing DdRT.

Ok cheers old mill you have given me something to think about now. Do you climb solely srtwp now then? And do you know of any arb talk users that still climb on the uni so I could maybe pick there brains

Dan Curtis, Ian Flatter and I all climb on the unicender. We have all used the rope wrench too and I think Ian is on the hitch hiker now. Adam Bourne also uses the HH and used to be on the wrench

One of the fellas I have been working with recently got hold of a hank of cougar blue, best rope for the wrench he has tried. so i assume it'll rock on the Uni.

Reviewing the Hitch Hiker, still dont think anything has came close to working a stem on spikes than the uni.

Cougar blue. Although, Ive heard of some issues with reliability of the quality of some hanks... Uni is king for spikes Either that or tie your saw onto the line spike above it with wrench/hh whatever, then pull it back up to you
