It is all about chain speed, chain setup and torque in the cut. If the saw has a sell set up chain, the saw pulls decent top end revs and the torque is enough to keep the chain speed high in the cut then the saw will be good.

You need go see which element was missing and deal with it!

Your seriously getting to the guru title in my book :biggrin:

seriously tho it really has all got to do with how any saw set up as to what it'll do

I run an 18 on my 66 but only for when I want to bomb through some timber.

Not much use in smaller stuff. I try and get away with the smallest saw I can for the job, saves ya back.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
