Ive only used seasoned wood bud. Though i haven't done wood work in a long time, if u work most green wood itll spilt etc.

try seasoning it first

I've just got my hands on some lovely Cherry. I'm keen to attempt some grips. Does anybody know if the wood needs seasoning first though?

I would season first as I find cherry splits quite a lot .
