Ive only used seasoned wood bud. Though i haven't done wood work in a long time, if u work most green wood itll spilt etc.

try seasoning it first

Just needs a fine sanding and shaped to my hand and done as a basic attempt

I've just got my hands on some lovely Cherry. I'm keen to attempt some grips. Does anybody know if the wood needs seasoning first though?

I would season first as I find cherry splits quite a lot .

Id put them aside for a couple of months and now started again on my 4 different silky handles
