Heres my diy cambium/pulley saver,

A mate i was climbing with had one and i had the vital parts to be able to make a retreivable saver in my kit bag so had ago and i love it,

to pull it back i just use either a spliced eye or a simple overhand knot.

consists of :

1- lyon eye to eye sling, ( could use split tail/prussik if needed to go round a larger top anchor)

2- isc karabiner

3- petzl micro pulley with matching petzl ok karabiner.

i make sure that the karabiners are facing away from the main stem

what do you guys think?

thanks

That does look smarter then using an actual cambium saver instead of the eye to eye cord i just didnt like that the rope dosent run on the pulley alone

yes mate I know what your saying, but its very simple, less friction than standard cambium saver, and works well

Is it applicable from a throw line from the ground?

don't know, never tried , I normally just climb to top anchor then install it, then wizz back down on the pulley

Smart. my only worry would be that the biner may rub open while in use, only a very small possibility but a possibility all the same. swap the biner for a mallion and its sorted.
