we have had a letter from the gas company saying we are gonna get a standing charge per day from may but as we are only using our gas for our cooker now its a bit to much for me to bear so i am wondering where to get a regulator that goes on the side of the house and gets piped in to the cooker any advice chaps

ditto, a 47kg bottle lasts 18 months. You can get a propane regulator from somewhere like go outdoors, or BES supply auto changeover kits etc. although this is a bit overkill. A lot of hobs come with propane jets, and you need to turn the air jets down to minimum. We got a smeg and the instructions were included.

The same as Steve, a gas hob/electric oven, it had to have different jets for propane, a 47kg bottle lasts over 12 months.

would be interested to hear anyones usage levels with a gas fired oven as well?

im going over to a log stove/boiler combo soon this could mean propane gets me off the gas line altogether:thumbup1:
