Sorry, I didn't spot your last post. How is a moss bandage made and applied, and does it work? And how?

Apologies if htis has been covered in another older post, please direct me there if it is easier.

Cover wound in sphagnum moss, bandage with plastic to keep moist and hope for the best. Same principle/procedure basically as grafting scions and rootstocks.

Cannot guarantee it will work but better than doing nothing. Have used in the past to repair deer damage with good results.

Had a spaniel pup one that ring barked my pear tree that was grafted on to cherry root stock . Tree made pears every year but cherry leaf sprouted from below the wound after that .
