Honestly?

Multisaver....

 

For anything bigger than a couple of pulls to access I use SRT

For chogging down on spikes I choke single line with a running bowline and use a fig 8 for descent.

If I'm working a small tree ddrt I'll either climb up or use my little telescopic ladder then set the multisaver purely as a cambium saver. It's that bit lighter and less bulky to hang off the harness and retrieves easier.

The only time I would use the ps is if there's no suitable vaguely horizontal limb to hang it off, then I'll choke on the pulley saver.

So in reality ps only gets used when I choose to just for a change....

 

I like making up lanyards, have a 4m Xtc, 6m OP and 10m+ aeris.

Long game is to learn to splice, then I can make up what I really want

 

 

I've never climbed or ascended on srt. I've always climbed drt, big assents use a drt line and a long Prussic to footlock.

For chogging down I usually choke my multisaver round the stem, unless its not long enough.

I love my ms because I can install it from the ground if I need too.

 

I have made two lanyards now, first was a 3m marlow with ISC pulley and stein eye to eye.

New one is XTC fire, oceana eye to eye and a DMM pulley.

Only annoying thing is, the stopper knot gets caught in tight crotches.

 

I would really like one of the treemagineers lanyards

My 6m OP strop is 'modelled' on the CE lanyard, it's a nice concept.

6m of OP, barrel knot one end, fishermans the other. Short Sirius tied as an eye to eye in a vt, pinto and rock exotica rock-o, ISC snap one end and a short length of Sirius tied into a loop and tied as a 6 wrap prusik with an ISC ring on with a larks head as an attachment point for single line use.

I'll probably swap the cordage round soon and get some 10mm Sirius, 8mm OP and a bit of OV for the ring. May even splurge on a thimble and some new matching biners.

So a whole new lanyard....

 

Stopper knots are irritating, snaps are just as bad, great big things....

Not really a work gear photo but sorting my pictures out and found this one from last year just before I went on a climbing trip abroad. This bag got up to 50kg at some points on the trip

 

Will try and get a work gear one when its next all together.
