Hell of a job. Couldn't even see the hedge in the first picture. Looked more like a heap of out of control epicormic growth or just rubbish suckers. Looks proper tidy.

That looked a tough one to do.

that bit was the worse bit. the hazel was trying to get to the light and had gone up and twisted in a 180degree turn to reach the light when we laid some the top was sticking out some 10ft to the side made for interesting pleaching up the length of stem to bring in. re laying back even though there was a lot a lot was hanging outside so unable to bring back in plus growing in side of main stool so what we had we took back to build up hedge. be good to see what it is like end of this year. and next summer after growing.

thats it for the season apart from a show to demonstrate at be autumn time before it starts again. need to find some hedges to lay for new season. if i could get one keep us busy for 3 seasons. over 3 miles long. but its the cost and lack of grants.

thanks for all the positive comments, not just me but Hans who laid it aswell if your interested or any one else. trying to get a day when those who fancy having a go can talking with a couple of groups to see if it can be organised.

its the insurance hence talking to groups who do this.

the cost would be £10 for becoming a member. for the insurance side of things.

plus need a hedge that is young to learn laying on a old hedge is difficult to do.

soon as i have any firm details and dates will post. have already a number interested so will try and get it going.

well have just heard that i have 300 mtrs of old blackthorn to lay poss this winter be good advertising as on the side of main road. so will get some boards made to advertise who we are may generate more work.
