Aldi is great! the most random bits of kit in the world!:biggrin:

 

yep... i second that.. i bought the digital vernier calipers they had on sale a month or so back (think some others did as well off here), 8.99 brilliant bit of kit, even if you only use once or twice a year.

Mine broke. Not getting another pair. Will buy a proper pair.:thumbdown:

 

But there other stuff has Ben fine. Got the set of thread cutters, a vice, and a spanner set, the spanners where 3.99 as there the last ones. :thumbup:

Just remember, that the 2 ton/4 ton "rating" is not the pulling/lifting capacity. It's some weird "ability to pull a 2 ton vehicle on wheels along a horisontal surface". Tha actual pulling force is roughly 200/400 kg. And no formal Minimum Breaking Strength, Safe Working Load either.

Its rating is a bit irrelevant for me now....bloody sold out already in all 3 local(ish) shops.

Thatll teach me to keep my gob shut until i have actually bought a bargain!
