Fill your bath up to the brim as well as sinks. Then pull the plugs out. Try again. If the smell is still there you may have a french rat in your pipes!

Seriously though try the bath fill method and if you have a plunger try using that as well.

Any ideas why I have a very strong smell of raw garlic in my bathroom? Seems to be coming from plug holes but only in the bathroom not kitchen? :confused1:

Look behind the shower curtain, could be the guy from the local indian. You might want a word with your missus:laugh1:

I don't wish to alarm you but could you or your neighbours be using phostoxin to gas rabbits or moles? If yes there's a chance the gas is found its way into a drain. If it is phostoxin you need to get yourself and family out the house. Sorry to alarm you.

How likely is this to be used in a block of fairly new flats, the factory behind is empty could that be it?

If there is a pest controller gassing rats around old factory then it's possible, old drainage systems could carry gas for hundreds of meters also gas would get past the waist trap also drains have many spurs ask neighbours if they smell it too I'm not trying to scare you but I couldn't live with myself if it was and I didn't say anything
