A mate of mine is selling his for £500 with a 25'' bar. Am I right in saying its an old saw? They don't make them anymore do they? I just want to know if their any good or should I spend a bit more or look out for a 372? It will be used for stumps, considering I have a fair few big'uns I need a bigger saw really :)

Great saw. You can tell how old it is from the serial number on the black plate by the oil fill cap . I had a 2003 one still going strong until last year when it got nicked . The only reason they don't make it any more is its now called a 390XP but its the same saw , very slightly bigger piston . I would have one if I did not now have a 390 . It is essentially a big 372 . Same lay out . Mine runs a 28" bar with ease . There are no known faults that I can think of except perhaps bolts coming loose now and then . If it runs strong the yep good saw . Haggle on price though !

I have a 385, monster of a saw, mine pulls its 28" bar with ease, they stopped selling them in USA in 2010-2011, so parts are easy to get hold of, it's exactly the same parts as the 390, with a slightly smaller pot n piston
