Hi

I'm Having problems with an 088 it was bought as a non runner by a friend who i cut with!,it wont start? it has plenty of compression,fuel lines filter all appear to be fine, i fitted a new spark plug, has a good spark, choke appears to be ok, linkages doing as they should,baffles working, jets appear to be fine, diagphram ok, the saw will run with a small amount of petrol put direct into the carb, then dies? if you repetativley crank the saw with the choke open,as if to flood it,the plug is bone dry? any thoughts or help would be appreciated? Holed impulse line, holed fuel line, blocked gauze filter in the carb or poorly adjusted metering arm in the carb.:thumbup:

After cranking over take the fuel pipe off the carb and see if fuel spills from the pipe. Do this before removing the fuel cap. It will give good indication as to if the fuel tank is pressurising pushing fuel into the carb.

 

You could also slacking off the fuel cap if the above doesn't work to see if tank breather is working aswell.

Cranked the saw over, no fuel coming from the fuel line to the carb, tank doesnt appear to be pressurizing! noticed two deep scores parallel to one another below the piston ring, would this affect it in any way?
