bit of a eye opener and just imgaine with a big saw. called MS200 Cuts 10mm wire, i think.

 

think safe! always two ropes/attachments points a foot apart from each other.

Good points but if you're chogging down with a big saw and you catch your flipline then the outcome will be the same!

 

You'd be a long time cutting through wirecore - certainly long enough for you to notice its not wood! You wouldnt get a chance with normal rope!

Wire cores give a false sense of security, I don't like them and if you hit it I'm pretty sure the damage done would just make the rest of it snap.

Ive hit rope before and not cut all the way through, but saying that with a big saw you could go through a steel core pretty damn quick. Its no safer and gives you a false sense of security. Better off just being vigilant..

If you hit wire core with a saw at full revs your going through, especially if all your weight is on it. I've given all mine away. I used them all the time when chogging down but just don't see the point if they're no safer than a normal rope. The rope is way lighter and more flexible so what's the point in the wire core unless you're flip lining up a big barrel covered in ivy or something.

I Use a piece of 24mm Three strand with a short prussic for length adjustment, nice and stiff so flips up the trunk easily.
