is it worth the extra money?

I'm posting this on behalf of another, I don't have much experience in this field so and and all thought would be mucho appreciated.

 

Would it be worth spending a little more and getting the bigger of the two? The cycle time is the same.

 

20 ton: WX540EU

 

25 ton: WX640EU

 

Also, if any uber cleaver people could explain the " IVA Road Registration " that would be magic!

proarc used to make some mega road towable machines, going back a few yrs.

problem with all new ones they are built to a budget, not a spec.

personally id look at a little browns 3pt linkage splitter for a tractor and run off a power pack, definatly more about them material wise if you get me.

apologies my post reads arsey and wasn't meant to be.lol

the older splitters are still the better ones available if you can find them

Thanks for the comments. I think his mind has been set on the wallenstein so its not the question on whether or not the brand is good but whether or not to spend more and get the bigger version?

Hi Maxwell, i had the Wx540 for about 2 years, an awesome machine and built like a tank! i put everything through it, big knotty oak the lot and not once did it fail to split anything. Never thought i needed the next one up!

I pondered the same question before buying mine. In the end I plumped for the wx640. However, if was going to buy another it would be the wx540 which is more than capable. I think mine was one of the first in the Country and is still going strong - it gets hired out quite a lot so takes abuse!

Very light build 240 kg for a claimed 25 ton machine, compared to a 13 ton Thor road tow at close to double the weight of steel!!
