Hiya guys,

Im looking to invest in my first chain saw (so i can stop borrow my other half's!!)

Would appreciate some advice on the best model, been swaying towards a husky much to the dissapointment of the mr haha, being a stihl man himself

thanks :001_smile:

You are going the right way ! First we need to know what you are going to use it for and how big is the timber . Then we will know if its 395 BIG saw or 550 small saw territory , or anything in between . :001_smile:

Looking for something relatively lightweight, being a lass, as much as I hate to admit it I cant be lugging a massive saw round all day...

Timber probably wouldn't be much over 200mm diameter much of the time, will be for some basic felling and playing around making firewood

560xp all the way, well worth the time and the money.the best all round saw

Not disputing that it's a good saw, but it's total overkill. For maximum diameters of 15 inches, a 550xp is going to be amply powerful. Any more than that is unnecessary.
