Husqvarna orange:lol::lol:

sorry just couldnt resist :thumbup1:

original pain looks like enamel or baked, probably get Stihl white in a spray, just make sure the surface being sprayed is ultra smooth & ultra clean, use thinners or tack rag. Preparation is the key to a good finish.

take your time, do a good job and post a picture here :001_smile:

If its too smooth the paint will have trouble keying, better to rough it up (skutching). Dont paint the bits that flex unless you are using a specialist paint (it will flake off and look scabby) Kolorbond is good but other brands are available.

You could speak to a vehicle refinisher and ask if they will run the gun out on your saws next time they are painting a bumper.

Going slightly against the trend here, but your aim is to make it less likely to be stolen? In which case, might it be better to do the worst paint job on it you can? If you do a nice job, in an unusual colour, there's still the risk that the thieves aren't that clued up, and steal it because it looks decent. A few squirts from a fluorescent pink spray can should make it pretty unattractive.

Just a thought.
