Vermeer BC 1000 XL Producing Biomass for wood chip boiler

HI Guys here is a video of a BC 1000 XL I delivered to a hotel in Inverness producing a G 50 spec wood chip for a 90 kw wood chip biomass boiler.

A friend has a BC1000 he bought new. He likes chipping bigger stuff like the machine says it can do. All his drum bearing mounts are cracked, along with various other cracks.

 

I will say those little vermeers have excellent wood chip throwing abilities. Something about that setup they have dialed.

For a machine that is 7 years old I think it did a pretty good job, in an ideal world they would have purchased a larger chipper but everybody has their limitations they were originally going to try using a smaller 37hp machine to do the job :/ it may have to work hard but only occasionally as its producing chip for only one biomass boiler.

 

If the blades are sharp, the anvil is set correctly and very importantly, what your chipping and how you are chipping it a G 50 spec chip is quite achievable.
