A van pulled up at our yard today and guy with an irish accent said he was on his way back to Dublin and he had some saws for sale, my ears pricked up and went off to his van to look at the 'stihl' chainsaws. They had 16" bars and he had quite a few, he said you can have them for £250 each, I said they are not stihl (although they did look like them) and he was quite adamant they was, after a few minutes he was offerring them at £100 each.

I guess some one will buy them, they did look the part.

Had a similar thing happen 6months ago, transit stopped where i was working and irish chap offered saws and garden equipment for sale,i didn't even look what they had in there.

A mate of mine caught a gang of thieves in his yard at 2000hrs the other night. They were just about to take his truck (with mounted TW125 and 18m tracked MEWP. Cheeky sods, he was sitting there watching TV with the curtains open and they STILL had a go!. Thankfully, all he suffered was damage to the truck (they bypassed his alarm AND immobiliser) :( Watch out Essex!

Had the same here three times in the last six months. Each time called the old bill after they'd gone, they're really just having a shufti at your yard and the old bill know that. They went over the vehicles with a fine tooth comb but couldn't do them for anything

Funny thing is they got quite irate when you pointed out that they were rubbish chinese, not Stihl. They don't even say Stihl on them, this is so the police cannot confiscate the stock as counterfeit. I just said I was skint, as I thought I was winding them up a bit much! :001_huh:
