Milling oak in a gale

I'm not sure I'm qualified to give tips, but here's a few things I do different:

 

I'd mill that piece away from the camera as it was there, looked like most of the dust was getting blown back at you.

 

I put a big peg-like clamp with some rubber on it on the throttle, gives me the freedom to hold/push the mill where I want to.

 

I put my wedges either on the wood near the ends, or in between the rails of the mill so I can put them in without stopping the milling (just keep it moving slowly as I find stopping and starting again causes extra scoring).

 

I push on the back rail as the mill gets to the end, to keep the mill flat as it comes out.

 

 

Oh, and be aware, this milling lark is highly addictive...

Rover yes the wind was whipping it back in my face:lol:

I like your idea of storing wedges in the mill bars:thumbup1:

Yeh I was putting the pressure on the back guide on the exit each time but sods law dictates when you try and film it you balls it up:laugh1:
