Looks like it slowly retracts (or does it?) and will take up to 5kg, where an 201t is 3.7kg, Mmmmm?

I've been thinking about getting one of these to use as my chainsaw lanyard

Retractable Tool Lanyard Cobra MKII Velcro Strap

They're rated to 5kg which is the same weight as a ms200t.

Not sure if that's taking it to close to the limit, what does everyone think.

 

It would keep the saw closer to you when moving around....

The issue with this is that while it's fine for a screwdriver which you holster everytime, the only thing you can do with a saw is drop it and leave it hanging, there's no close ring to clip onto a caritool, so every time you drop the saw it's off down to 1.2m away from you and all you have to haul it back up with is 1 point something mm thick coated wire rope, which ain't exactly 'nice in the hand'.

What it won't do is retract and pull a 5kg chainsaw back up to your harness!

I'll be sticking with my 2 ring bungee strop I reckon....

It would be ok for a silky but not a chainsaw.

 

But for a silky a small retractable dog (or cat) lead would do the same for a fraction of the cost.

 

Bungees for silkys to be avoided at all costs though!!!

It looks like a good idea for a small lightweight tool. But I wouldn't want my 200t on the end of that! The harness attachment looks too flimsy and the first time I let go of the saw I reckon the whole thing will go flying!
