Been thinking about this and am of the opinion that we are barking up the wrong tree.

This saw is aimed at the more lucrative householder/small gardener market.

Put simply it's not meant for us as a professional tool. As such comparisons and criticisms are pointless. (and I have been guilty of just that)

Not true in the UK.

As it is a top handle saw, you need to be a "professional" to buy one:001_rolleyes:

Yes, hence the....:001_rolleyes:

It is the responsibility of your dealer to record your candidate number from your NPTC certs when purchasing a topper.

I believe Stihl UK have recently been tightening up on this, as they have a certain duty of care to ensure operators have the relevant experience/quals/PPE etc when selling a saw.

On a side note Paul, you know of one person who's been asked now, as our dealer has taken proof of quals for many years. I think they even keep a copy for future reference.

We try and take a copy of everyones certs. These are just the ones that have been faxed to us, we have aver 1000 emails as well.

If I know the person holds one we don't need to ask.:001_smile:

Good point! forgot about that:blushing: However you must remember that no such certification is needed here, indeed you can hire anything from a 200 to an 880 for the day from a countrywide hire chain. I cannot speak for the rest of Europe.

The UK is only one market.
