You're both competent and qualified climbers are you not? Capable of climbing a tree safely and choosing the appropriate equipment to do so? Why would I intervene to stop you?

Explain your climb to the judges, get up there, ring some bells, don't hurt anyone and leave the tree as you found it. Results count - gizmos less so :D

Nice one :thumbup1:

Why not a drt and srt comp.

Spoke to Chalky a few weeks back and it may be a possibility next year.

Because there would only be 2 srt climbers. On the plus side i could come 2nd :001_tongue:

We'll see about that. The winnner gets to buy the first round in Gambia:001_tt2:

Cos we'd probably only have five competitors but we'd need to find a tree, judges and prizes! Besides the way the event is set up doesn't really advantage either system IMO.

That said, no-one's ever won with SRT. Now there's a challenge Mr Curtis.

Hmm, go on then, I'll give it a run. I thought the only thing that foiled my run last year was some little plastic ducks and bouncing when I hit the ground:blushing: Was the only sub ten minute climb I believe though

I can think of 2 others that would try srt.

It was just an idea. Would be interesting to see the time difference of the same person climbing drt to srt.
