I thought trasmission loss would be to great over long distance, but that doesn't seem the case.

From wiki

So maybe not totally impossible but most likely polictically unfeasible.

Thats a great link Face cord and if what they want to do was made so I doubt half of the wars in the world would need to be faught.

In time Im sure most of us will come to realise that what the media and government tell us is only a smoke screen.

If a resource is plentyfull then it does'nt command a high price but if its can be made scarce and rashioned then its a sellers marketand the profits pay for us to live the way we do now.

Im not sure how goverments world wide would deal with it if we all decided to be self sufficent and grow our own food, produce our own power and exchange our skills without money changing hands but it would be the opposite to what we'll see over the comming years.

We pipe most of our gas and oil from Norway, as they have little need for it, as they use mostly hydro power, we could in theory get our electricity from that instead

I heard recently that water power is the only free energy youll be taxed on in the U.K, can anyone confirm deny that? only heard it a day or two ago so no research yet.

The programme made me feel sick, a load of hyped up 'Green speak' to pull the wool over everyones eyes, (they are only doing it for the subsidies and to satisfy some crazy EU directive).Did you see the size of those storage towers? one full of 'bio mass' lasted 3 weeks!! we could deforest Europe in a few years at that rate as Drax is not the only power station..

Irony, We was in Trinidad&Tobago about 18 months ago, they produce lots of oil in Trinidad so petrol is subsidised by the government????!!!!!! was 27p a litre in June 2011.

They have a regular day length throughout the year lots of sunshine and wind but solar power is none existent, instead they burn gas because its cheap etc. Thats politics for you.

Simples would be invest in solar and wind export more oil and gas.

Its not just us thats living in the selfish moment.
