361 is regarded as the finest saw by many ....personally i am a husky ground saw fan also having used the 341 if you dont like the 357 you will hate it more... i thought it very underpowered in comparison..361 same cc but different coil ect so it revs higher and has more power,stihl does not evan sell the 341 in many countrys as there is just no contest against the 361

i have no idea mate ,probably not thinking about it ....i was handed it whilst doing a thinning contract.....chris runs a 341 and me a 357....noticably to me the husky reved higher and cut through faster in its favour i would say the 341 was better balanced but did not have guts to make me wanna use it all day

Actually I have a 341 ( one of the few stihls I own) and its not a bad saw. I run a 16" bar with 3/8's chain and she runs really well.

 

I have 2 357's , and whilst I love the power and feel, I'm less than pleased with the way all the little bits like throttle and deadmans handle and choke levers and stop switches and chain brake etc etc self destruct the moment you use them. Coming from years of faithfull 254 service, its a disapointment.

each to your own i wouldnt evan buy a 361 though if it was the same price but i know you hate huskys steve probably as much as i hate stihls!

I've got a 361 running 3/8 and a 341 on .325 both 16" bars and the 361 is by far my favorite. the 341 hardly ever goes out. i also run a 20" bar on the 361 while up a tree, it pulls it fairly well.

i dont hate husky at all, i think they are good saws, i just have a preference for stihl at the moment, that may next this time next year, im fickle like that!

matty....if you had run it with .325 and a 9 rim sprocket you'd have experienced a whole different machine

agreed steve....its funny that i did not touch huskys for 7 years after a few bad saws and after a few bad stihls im back on huskys again............fickle yes maybe we all arebut when you have a personally bad experience with a peace of equipment you depend on to make your living we are all very opinionated about wich is best......maybe is worth trying an echo or makita if you have the dealer support! i tryed an echo once and it was a damn good saw but just could not get spares for it so sold it for £50 in the end!
