this will prove interesting to me also as im looking to get my first new rope for tree climbing. only thing is ive been looking at the blaze which i think is an 11mm, why is 13mm so much more popular? it's only 2mm

jim, thicker ropes are more popular because they are easier to grip....though if you switch to 11mm your grip soon accustoms...and also with devices such as cambium savers and better functioning friction hitches the smaller diameter really shouldnt be an issue at all

2mm makes alot of difference. 11mm just feels so small in my hand.

cheers steve, i reckon i might get on pretty well with 11, it's the same size as i use for non-tree climbing that way. means i can use a wider variety of little gadgets should i find them advantageous too
