Me and me good lady wife will be celebrating our 10year wedding anniversary this october and as i've never "officially" been to london (i've been to Kew and surrounding areas passing through), she said she would take me.

Does anyone know of any decent hotels that aren't overly expensive but aren't cheap and nasty either that they would recommend to stay in for 3 nights early october in the Covent Garden, Victoria, Westminster area?

Cheers:biggrin:

I stayed in a travelodge last weekend the old moorgate now city road was pretty good and fairly cheap if you book it far in advance 50 quid a night I think... Does depend on if you want cheap and cheerful though...

Hi me and missus stayed in the Thistle Westminster last spring for three nights, think it was about £100 a night. Only a couple of minutes walk from Victoria tube one way and Buckingham Palace the other. Room was good and breakfast superb.

Cheers, I'll have a look

Hi Rob,

Have you looked at this website ?

https://www.airbnb.co.uk/

Its a mix of people that both run bnb's and have a spare room to rent for a short while.

I used this site over the summer as we had a spare room and were close to the Olympics.

It was a great way for us to meet people and we were charging 1/3 the price of the local hotel!

I would fully recommend it to anyone that is looking for a cheap way to see a city, as well as meeting someone new in the process!
