depends on what the specification was.

 

That's not a thin it's a good lift. The opacity of the upper section of the crown hasn't changed.

 

If the client wanted more light under the canopy and to get the limbs away from the building then this has been acheived.

 

If they wanted a proper thin it would have been very tricky on those spindly limbs without a mewp.

 

Just an observation, not a dig. I think I would have suggested what youv'e done and called it a lift and cut back rather than a thin.

Like everyone else said, not really a thin, more of a heavy crown lift, and could probably be classified at lion tailing like Judge said. I expect you had a specific requirement to give clearance over the house. Appropriate for this particular tree in this location? Probably. Good work

wow thanks alot everyone. the client just wanted the tree cut back some; or trimmed. there was no real objective other than managing the tree away from the house. i did suggest that i remove the tree, but they want it there.
